Crochet X-Men Coffee Cozy Pattern

Crochet X-Men Coffee Cozy Pattern

At my brother’s request, I am making him a few coffee cozies with superhero and villain themes. This week, I’m grabbing my favorite version of the Marvel X-Men’s uniform from the 90s and making another coffee cozy! As with my Wolverine Coffee Cozy, I tend to lean towards the costume designs from the 1990s because that was when I spent lots of time watching the cartoon on TV. So this X-Men costume comes from one of the versions they had at that time.

Notes to Begin

It took me a bit of effort to get my head on straight for this project. It wasn’t so much that it was difficult, but that I was getting distracted easily with other projects this week. So I had to get my stuff together and head away from my tempting and distracting yarn stash for a couple of hours just to focus!

Notes:

  1. This pattern will be worked in rounds
  2. Numbers at the end of the instructions: In brackets “[ ]” will be the total stitch count for that row.
  3. Keep an eye out for color changes; you’ll need to keep all working yarn strands on one side of the finished cozy to hide them (the inside of the cozy)   {side note: I used both ends of my blue yarn on different sides of the center to make it easier to switch to blue when needed.}
  4. A few color changes will happen in the middle of an increase (increase = 2 sts in the same st), making it 1 stitch in one color and the 2nd st in the new color.
  5. The first chain in each round does not count as your first stitch.
