Movie Mandala – Moana
Hello everyone! I’m back from my christmas vacation and ready to pop out a few blog posts before the end of the year. (I really should get my posts on a consistent schedule…) But for the next couple days, they shall be crammed in! And today we’ll start with another Movie Mandala for mom’s blanket; this one is specifically of Moana.
I love that Disney finally put in a little more variation in their princess line. What I love even more is that Moana as a little girl looks just like the daughter of one of my friends. Such a cutie! He was a friend that my mother got to know and appreciated that he was a good friend to me and my other friend (his cousin). So it was only fitting to include the Moana mandala in the blanket mom is making, to have a little reminder of him.
Pattern and Palette
If you’d like to make your own Moana mandala, I’ll include a link to the pattern below and the color palette I used to select my yarns.
The mandala pattern is from A Creative Being.
Moana’s colors were derived completely from her outfit. The tan and light brown went very nicely with the salmon and brick red, so I had to include them.
- Red Heart With Love in Berry Red
- Red Heart Super Saver in Coral
- Red Heart Super Saver in Cornmeal
- Red Heart Super Saver in Buff
- Red Heart With Love in Eggshell or Red Heart Super Saver in Soft White
Until Next Time
Thanks for taking the time read the post! I’ll have a new Movie Mandala next week. Leave me a comment or any questions below. You can also find me on the Family Craft Studio facebook, instagram, tumblr, and pinterest pages. Happy crafting!
