Star Wars Crochet Cozy Series – Part 11 – BB8

This is the Pattern I’m Looking For

Hello everyone! I’m back with another Star Wars coffee cozy pattern! With the new film, came new characters, and of these the new droid was awesome. Am I right? BB-8 has an amazing design! Unfortunately, this one definitely gave me issues. That little round head and body were tough ones to figure out.

Instructions for the Circular Patches (use the “C” hook; use the shiny off white, orange, and grey yarn)

SSC instruction: this is a regular sc, but it is a little longer and hinged on a st lower than the working row. So, insert your hook in the designated lower-stitch, yarn over and pull through that st to have 2 sts on your hook. Make sure to pull a little extra yarn so the stitch is loose and longer. Then yarn over and pull through both loops. Done!

Assembly

Lets begin with your main cozy and your four (4) circular patches. Choose the side that will be the front, and then select two (2) patches. With about two (2) yards of orange yarn on tour tapestry needle sew on the circular pieces, one slightly higher on the right and one slightly lower on the left.

PSX_20160711_173703

The other two (2) patches will go on the back section of the main cozy. Sew on these the same as you did in the front. Make sure the one that is lower lines up with the higher one from the front, and the higher one in the back lines up with the lower one in the front. Mouthful, I know, but I promise it’ll be a better balance if you do it this way.

PSX_20160711_210430

Next, you’ll add the head piece! On the front, using about one (1) yard of off white yarn on your tapestry needle, sew the head piece right above the lower circle.

Done!

And you now have a crochet BB8 coffee cozy! *twitchy happy dance* Go forth and have some tea and coffee with your new BB8 Cozy.
