Star Wars Crochet Cozy Series – Part 14 – Boba Fett

The Mandalorian Bounty Hunter

It has been a busy couple of weeks, full of started projects, but this one is one I have been looking forward to for some time. As my fourteenth Star Wars coffee cozy, I give you: Boba Fett, one of the most feared bounty hunters in the Star Wars galaxy!

Materials

Materials:

  • Sizes “K” and “G” hooks
  • Worsted Weight yarn in desired colors
  • Tapestry needle

  1. Red Heart Super Saver in light sage (green)
  2. Red Heart Super Saver in delft blue (blue)
  3. Loops & Threads Impeccable in true grey (dark grey)
  4. Loops & Threads Impeccable in black
  5. Big Twist Yarns Value in gold (yellow)
  6. Caron United in burgundy

Abbreviations:

  • St(s) = stitch(es)
  • Ch(s) = chain(s)
  • Sl st = slip stitch
  • Sc(s) = single crochet(s)
  • Hdc(s) = half double crochet(s)
  • Dc(s) = double crochet(s)
  • Tr(s) = treble crochet(s)

Notes:

  1. This cozy is made in 4 piece: the cozy (body), 2 ear pieces, and 1 jetpack piece.
  2. Numbers at the end of the instructions: In square brackets “[ ]” will be the total stitch count for that row/round.
  3. The first chain in each row/round does not count as your first stitch, so don’t skip your first stitch.
  4. An increase is 2 stitches made in the same stitch.

Crochet Boba Fett Coffee Cozy

Instructions for the main cozy (use a “K” hook)

1. In dark grey, ch 22, sl st the ends together to create a loop. Sc 21 around. [21 sts]

2. In light grey, ch 1, turn. Sc 21 around. [21 sts]

3. In light grey, ch 1, turn. Sc 7. In gold, sc 2. In light grey, sc 3. In gold, sc 2. In light grey, sc 7. Sl st to the first st to close the rnd. [21 sts]

5. In green, Rep R2 [21 sts]

6. In burgundy, ch 1, turn. Do this row in BLO. *Inc 1, sc 6.* Rep from * to * two more times around. End off. [inc rnd to 24 sts]

7. In green, ch 1, turn. Sc 8. In light grey, sc 9, In green, sc 7. [24 sts]

8. In green, ch 1, turn. Sc 8. In light grey, sc 2. In green, sc 5. In light grey, sc 2. In green, sc 7. [24 sts]

13. In green, ch 1, turn. Sc 10. In burgundy, sc 3. In black, sc 3. In burgundy, sc 3. In green, sc 8. Sl st to the first st to close the rnd. [27 sts]

14. In green, ch 1, turn. Sc 9. In black, sc 9. In green, sc 9. Sl st to the first st to close the rnd. End off black yarn. [27 sts]

15. In burgundy, sc 27 around. End off burgundy yarn. [27 sts]

16. In green, sc 27 around. End off. [27 sts]

17. In green, turn and go the other direction, and attach the yarn on the 11th stitch. Sc 9 across the center. [9 sts]

18. Ch 1, turn. Skip the first st. Sc 1 in the next st. In light grey, sc 2. In green, sc 4 across. Skip the last st. [7 sts]

19. In green, ch 1, turn. Sc 2. Dc 3. Sc 2. End off. [7 sts]

Instructions for Earphone pieces (make 2, use “G” hook, one in gold and one in green)

1. Ch 4, turn. Sc 3 across. [3 sts]

2-5. Sc 3 across. [3 sts]

6. Ch 1, turn. Skip the first st. Hdc 3 in the second st. Sl st in the last st. End off.

Instructions for Jet Pack (use “G” hook)

1. In light grey, sc 13, turn. Sc 2. In blue, sc 3. In gold, sc 2. In blue, sc 3. In light grey, sc 2.

2. Rep R1.

3. Rep R1. End off light grey yarn.

4. Still facing the same direction, insert hook through the first blue st on the way back the row. Grab yarn and pull through the st; this creates your loop on the hook. Ch 1, turn. Sc 3. In gold, sc 2. In blue, sc 3. You will skip the light grey stitches.

5. Ch 1, turn. Sc 3. In gold, sc 2. In blue again, sc 3.

6. Ch 1, turn. Sc 1, hdc 1, dc 1. In gold, tr 2. In blue again, dc 1, hdc 1, sc 1. End off both yarns.

7. Attach burgundy, turn. Sc 1, dc 1, sc 1. Dc 2. Sc 1, dc 1, sc 1. End off.

8. Attach light grey yarn at the first gold stitch, turn. Sc 2 across the gold sts.

9. Ch 1, turn. Sc 2 across.

10. Attach burgundy again, turn. Sc 2.

11. Ch 1, turn. Sc 2 across.

12. Rep R11. End off.

Instructions for attaching the pieces (use tapestry needle)

1. With about 1 yard of gold yarn on your tapestry needle, attach the gold earphone piece. With the cozy front facing you, it will be attached to the left side, just past the end of the black stitches of round 14.

2. With about 1 yard of green yarn, attach the green earphone piece to the other side of the cozy, just past the end of the black stitches of round 14.

3. With about 1 to 1 1/2 yards of light grey yarn on your tapestry needle, center the jet pack piece to the back of your cozy (over your seam), and attach the jet pack there.
