Star Wars Temperature Blankets Project – Movie 1 – Part 10

ILM Studio

Hello everyone! I return with another panel done for the Star Wars “A New Hope” temperature blanket! This panel covers the temperatures for the month of October 1977 in Van Nuys, CA where the ILM Studio was located. It isn’t exactly a filming location, but post-production and such was done there, so it totally counts.

Temperatures and Colors

The temperature range from this month was a relatively small range, so I got to use a lot of reds again. But it cooled down towards the end of the month and went into orange-y colors. There was also a particularly hot day where I got to use a dark pink. It really stands out towards the middle of the panel.

The chart below lists the temperatures for that month and location, so go ahead and use it for your own project, if you’re making one too.

This Month, Next Month

Note, that this month was a 31-day month, so the first and last day had to be reduced to a single row of color, instead of the usual 2-rows per day I do for the rest of the month. If you want an explantion of how the spacing works for each month (28, 30, 31) check out the very first post on this project for the details. You can go here.

Now, the next month’s panel is going to be a bit cooler, so i’ll have more salmon type colors for that range of temperatures.

Until Next Time
